Goes Google Whisk Have Nano Banana Pro? Here’s the Answer

No, Google Whisk does not have Nano Banana Pro (as of early 2026). It still uses the older Nano Banana model (Gemini 2.5 Flash).

Where’s the proof?

You can see the screenshot below from Whisk. You can see that on the bottom right, the image model is set to something called as Precise Reference:

And if you were to then click on the little “i” icon and then click on Learn More to the access the FAQ section on Whisk, you will be able to see that Precise Reference model is the Gemini 2.5 Flash Image model (standard Nano Banana) and not Nano Banana Pro:

If it was using Nano Banana Pro, then it would have said Gemini 3 Pro (the technical name for Nano Banana Pro) and not Gemini 2.5 Flash (the name for standard Nano Banana).

Why hasn’t Google incorporated Nano Banana Pro in Whisk up till now?

Simply because unlike the standard Nano Banana model, Nano Banana Pro is a premium product for Google.

Yes, you can use it for free on the Gemini app but it comes with restriction limits (3 images every 4 hours or so).

Basically, Google wants Nano Banana Pro to be used by the Gemini Pro plan users.

Since Whisk can be used completely for free, Google doesn’t want to use Nano Banana Pro as the model in Whisk.

Will it come to Whisk sometime in the future?

Honestly, no one can say for sure. But in my opinion, yes it can happen once Google releases a newer model of Nano Banana in the future, which will then replace Nano Banana Pro, which can then become free.

But honestly, this is just speculation.

I still want to see how to use the standard Nano Banana in Whisk. Do you have a tutorial?
