How to Add Keyframes in Capcut PC App
In this video we will learn how to add and use keyframes in Capcut PC by taking a very simple example, which will be very easy to understand for complete beginners too.
Learning how to use Keyframes is important because it allows you to create any type of custom movements and animations in your video. Here is the video:

Video Summary
This video tutorial explains how to use keyframes in the CapCut PC app to create dynamic movements, specifically focusing on a “zoom in and zoom out” effect.
Steps to Add Keyframes
- Select the Property: Identify which property you want to animate. For zooming, you use the Scale property [00:27].
- Set Starting Point (1st Keyframe): * Move your timeline indicator to where you want the animation to begin.
- Click the Diamond icon (keyframe button) next to the Scale property. This locks in the original size of the video [01:06].
- Set Peak/Midpoint (2nd Keyframe): * Move the timeline indicator to where the maximum zoom should occur.
- Set Ending Point (3rd Keyframe): * Move the indicator to where you want the video to return to its original size.
- Click the keyframe button once more. Ensure the Scale value is set back to its original state (e.g., 100%) [03:19].
Key Concepts
- Multiple Keyframes: You need at least two keyframes for any movement. A zoom-in-and-out effect requires three: start (original), middle (zoomed), and end (original) [02:48].
- Active Keyframes: When a keyframe diamond turns blue, it means it is active, and any changes you make to the property values will be recorded at that specific point in time [04:22].
- Versatility: Once you master keyframes for scaling, you can use the same technique for other properties like Position (to make objects slide) or Rotation [01:16, 03:00].
