How to Type the Copyright Symbol in Photoshop

In this video we’ll be seeing how to type the copyright symbol in Photoshop, both for Windows (PC) as well as iOS (Mac). Here is the video:

**Please note that in the video, for the Mac part, I made a bit of a mistake. Instead of saying “Option + G”, I said “Alt + G”.

  • Select the Type Tool: Click on the Horizontal Type Tool (T) and click or drag on your image to create a text layer [00:20].
  • Shortcut for Windows:
    • Hold down the Alt key.
    • On the numeric keypad (on the right side of your keyboard), type 0169.
    • Release the Alt key to see the symbol appear [00:41].
  • Shortcut for Mac:
    • Hold down the Alt (Option) key.
    • Press the G key [01:22].

Customization

  • Styling: Once the symbol is typed, you can change the font, color, and size using the character panel or options bar [00:53].
  • Opacity: Since the symbol is on a separate layer, you can decrease the layer opacity to make the watermark more subtle and transparent [01:12].
